Imagineer is sponsoring a video screen recording tutorial contest. Participants may submit a video screen recording of any of Imagineer's products and the winning participant will receive a full suite of all of Imagineer's programs!
This FAQ will answer all relevant questions surrounding the contest. If your question is not answered please email: sales@imagineersystems.com
Capture/Record:
Participants should do a full size capture of their desktop using a standard screen capture application such as: Camtasia or ishowu.
Audio quality will be considered, so it is best to use a microphone.
Capture at 15 fps.
Editing:
The best tutorials are usually edited down for content and a secondary voice over narration track added. Tutorials should be no longer than 15 mins in length.
Compression:
All videos must meet the following requirements:
- Your final video should be compressed to Quicktime with H264 compression.
- The final frame size should be:
- for 4:3 use: 575 x 460
- for 16:9 use: 840 x 525
- File size should be no larger than 100 mb.
Upload:
Participants must follow the following steps to submit their entries:
- All participants will need to upload their compressed video to: ftp://mocha:12345678@ftp.imagineersystems.com.
Use an FTP client software such as Fetch. - Please include your name in the file name. Example: first_last.qt
- When file is uploaded please send an email with your name, contact info & name of quicktime file to: sales@imagineersystems.com
Content:
User must have the rights to use the content of the footage they are using.
Video can feature any of the following software applications: mokey, monet, mocha, motor or mocha-AE
Any number of topics can be covered and the more unique the tutorial, the better chances of winning! Some sample ideas for tutorial topics:
- rotoscoping organic objects with motor
- logo replacement with monet
- using clean plates in mokey
- tracking null layers in After Effects using mocha-AE
Judging:
Videos will be judged on both the content and quality of the video. The most important factor will be the ability to communicate simple, clear and intelligent advice on using Imagineer products. Quality of the screen recording, audio, editing and narration will also be considered.
Deadline:
Videos must be posted no later than August 31th, 2008.
Prizes:
The video that gets the most votes from a select panel of judges will receive 1 node locked license of: monet, mokey and mocha software applications.
Winner will be announced by September 15th, 2008 and the winning video will be featured on the homepage of www.imagineersystems.com
