Imagineer Systems is pleased to announce the latest sale of its monet system to Turner Studios, the Atlanta-based full service broadcast production division of Turner Entertainment Group. "monet is very powerful," confirms Butch Seibert, senior inferno compositor at Turner Studios. "Our difficult tracking jobs can be were finished in less than half of the time it used to take with a point tracker."
monet, now on version 1.5, offers artists precision, lens distortion-aware 2D motion tracking using the industry's only planar tracker. It features a host of image processing tools to ensure that properties of the source material can be easily applied to the new element, allowing artists to perform complex tasks in a fraction of the time it would take with traditional high-end compositing packages.
"monet delivers solid tracks in a variety of situations," says Andrew Pope, senior inferno compositor, Turner Studios. "It has immediately moved to the top of our list of tracking solutions." The software has already proved itself in action saving Turner Studios an estimated two weeks work by tracking a particularly difficult baseball shot for Turner Sports, "comments Alex Ragland, Digital Compositing Supervisor, Turner Studios. "I did a lot of the shots on my Mac G4 laptop, and it was fast as well!
"monet allows us to provide our clients at Turner Entertainment with a powerful tracking solution at desktop prices," he continues. "Our tracking is rock solid and the speed is astonishing."
